Families and children in Warwick can experience free, hands-on art-making activities when the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) presents Asia Pacific Triennial Kids on Tour at Warwick Art Gallery from 14 January - 22 February.
Asia Pacific Triennial Kids on Tour features activities developed in collaboration with artists from India, Aotearoa New Zealand, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia/Palestine, Cambodia and Timor-Leste, who invite children to explore wide-ranging themes and ideas through a mix of hands-on activities, multimedia interactives and video.
These activities draw from the artists' works, with inspiration including mosaic tile designs, experimental sound and illustrations of nature, people, monsters and animals. Participants can create geometric patterns, experiment with their own sound composition, draw their own scenes and add to existing digital and drawn landscapes.
These free, drop-in activities are recommended for children aged 5 - 14. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
APT11 Kids on Tour is a free QAGOMA Touring program available to regional Queensland communities, with thanks to the generous support from the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation.
